White Carrara Marble Vanity Crack & Fracture Repair
This repair resolved a severe structural crack running between the splashback upstand and an undermount basin cutout in a Dubai luxury residence. The narrow stone bridge behind a sink is vulnerable to flex and weight strain. Full replacement would have required dismantling plumbing, the basin, and wall tiles, but the entire restoration was completed on-site in a single visit with zero downtime.
The Damage
Settlement pressure and thermal movement caused a full-depth branching fracture through the marble deck. The break ran along the natural grey mineral veining, creating an uneven lip, cracked open fissures, and a failing seal against the rear wall upstand.
The Repair
The fractured stone was stabilized and chemically bonded using low-viscosity structural stone epoxy to reinforce the load-bearing area. The surface fissure was filled with a multi-tone resin compound precisely color-matched to the milky white marble base and subtle smoky grey calcite veins. The repaired section was machine-honed flat, repolished to replicate the soft honed luster, and finished with a clean perimeter silicone bead along the splashback junction.
