Dark Marble Vanity Worktop Crack & Impact Repair
This repair involved localized impact damage and fracture lines across a polished dark marble bathroom vanity in a luxury residential property in Dubai. Replacing a custom-cut natural stone slab with integrated plumbing would have caused considerable disruption and expense. The entire restoration was executed on-site in a single visit without disturbing the existing fixtures or surrounding tilework.
The Damage
A heavy object dropped onto the marble vanity surface caused a visible impact chip with radiating stress cracks extending toward the outer edge. The force fractured the natural stone matrix, creating sharp, uneven surface edges, dulling the surrounding polish, and interrupting the stone’s intricate natural veining.
The Repair
The fractured area was prepped, stabilized, and bonded to stop further crack propagation. Specialist UV-curable and tinted stone repair resins were layered to build up the void, color-matched to the deep charcoal-brown base tone. The technician hand-recreated the subtle white calcite veining across the repair boundary before mechanically honing and polishing the surface to match the surrounding high-gloss factory luster. The result is completely flush, structural, and visually invisible.
